For 7 years, through our photography sessions, I listened to incredible women talk about their deep dreams. and the fears keeping them from achieving those dreams.
But there was always something holding them back from going all out and achieving those dreams.
Sometimes the fears showed up in the form of procrastination – putting off the one thing that they felt they wanted to do in order to contribute to the world.
Sometimes it would be overwhelm – not sure how to start, especially when it came to launching a business or non-profit.
Sometimes it would be in the form of chronic busyness – having no time to pursue some of the things they felt deeply about.
Or other times it would be imposter syndrome – who am I to speak on a, b, c? This has already been talked about so much.
Do any of these ring true to you?
If yes, then you are in good company!
In here, I’m going to share some strategies that I’ve learned and applied along the way that continually help me grow intentionally.
And also to find rest, in the midst of the culture of busyness.
And of course, this is not gospel, for that you’ll have to open the Bible 🙂
Looking back, I now believe that I’m a breed of people called the ‘multi-passionates.‘ Ever heard of them?
They have a wide variety of skill sets and can do a lot of stuff they put their mind to.
But this is also a recipe for disaster because, without focus, they become chronically busy and eventually burn out.
Which is what happened with me at some point.
After I got my degree in journalism and public relations I went straight to becoming a self-taught photographer.
And along the way, I made expensive mistakes – time-wise and financially.
But I don’t mind being the guinea pig, as long as my experiences help you!
On a personal level:
I’m a wife to an awesome man, and momma to 2 boys.
And I believe in Christ.
