It has become increasingly easier to become a photographer as the barriers to entry are very minimal. You basically need a camera, a laptop/computer and a good eye to follow this passion (at least that’s how I got started).
But the truth is, it is harder than it looks if you want to turn this into a full-time job and make your income from it. Taking pretty pictures is only maybe 20% of the story. However, there are many other ways you can break into the field, or work in the field without actually being a shooter yourself.
I know all about the pressure of trying to balance everything that this life calls us to balance. Work, family, social commitments – they all come bearing down. Usually, the first person we choose to neglect in this equation is the one that matters the most. Can you guess who it is?
Today I’ll write about something that I didn’t realize until this past weekend. For years I’ve struggled to get a ‘newsletter’ going. If you’ve been on my list you’ll know that I’ll write something once in a while then fade off. Bad business I tell you.
